A space to say what you haven't been able to say

Individual therapy, couples counseling, case management support, and LICSW clinical supervision — delivered via telehealth across Washington State.

Who I am

I'm Kristen E. Jacobson, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Washington State. My career spans government child welfare, drug court, medical social work, school-based practice, and many years in leadership roles across large organizations. That breadth shapes how I work — I'm a generalist by training and by disposition, which means I meet people where they actually are, not where a narrow specialty says they should be.

My clinical approach integrates CBT, DBT, and ACT in a solution-focused framework. I help people understand what's driving their patterns, build practical skills, and move toward a life that actually fits them. I specialize in working with adults 35 and older who are navigating complexity — relationship stress, life transitions, grief, caregiver burden, identity shifts, and the weight of taking care of everyone but themselves.

I also offer couples therapy for partners ready to do the work together, and case management services for individuals and families who need hands-on support coordinating care outside of a therapy relationship — including seniors managing the logistics of daily life.

As a Washington State approved clinical supervisor, I work with associates pursuing their LICSW and other mental health licenses who want more than checkbox supervision — supervision is available anywhere, with no geographic restriction. If you're looking for someone who will challenge you to think clinically, diagnose accurately, document well, and navigate insurance confidently, I'd like to connect.

All services are delivered via Zoom — video or audio, your preference.

How I can help

Case management

Standalone support for complex clients — scheduling appointments, organizing care calendars, and coordinating logistics. Especially helpful for seniors and families managing a lot at once.

👥

Individual supervision

One-on-one clinical supervision for associates pursuing their LICSW or other mental health licenses — available anywhere, no geographic restriction. Direct, consultative, and focused on clinical thinking, diagnostics, documentation quality, and insurance navigation.

🗂️

Group supervision

Telehealth supervision groups for associates pursuing their LICSW or other mental health licenses — open to associates anywhere, no geographic restriction. Minimum 3 participants, 1-hour sessions. Collaborative, case-based, and built around real clinical challenges.

Who I work with — and who I don't

Being clear about fit saves everyone time and helps you find the right support faster. Here's an honest overview:

✅ I work well with people who...

  • Are 18 years of age or older
  • Are ready to engage actively in their own growth
  • Want a direct, collaborative therapist — not a passive listener
  • Are navigating life transitions, grief, relationship stress, or burnout
  • Are adults 35+ managing complexity — caregiving, career, identity shifts
  • Are couples willing to do the work together
  • Are associates pursuing their LICSW or another mental health license who want challenging, consultative supervision — available anywhere, no geographic restriction
  • Are seniors or families needing hands-on care coordination support

❌ I am not the right fit for...

  • Children and adolescents (under 18)
  • Those requiring a higher level of care than outpatient telehealth (e.g., inpatient, intensive outpatient)
  • Active crisis requiring emergency intervention — please call or text 988

If I'm not the right fit, I'll do my best to help connect you with someone who is.
